Thanks for visiting my blog! I have plans to make this page a little more personal (and slightly more interesting) and by telling you, I’m hoping I might actually get it done. For now, here’s my official bio:

Suanne Camfield is a freelance writer and speaker who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first book, The Sound of a Million Dreams: Awakening to Who You are Becoming (InterVarsity Press) in Spring 2017.

She currently works full-time at Caris, a nonprofit that supports women facing unplanned pregnancy and equips others to think differently about unplanned pregnancy and abortion through their unique Pro-Grace (R) Approach.

Formerly, she was an assistant editor and publicist at InterVarsity Press where she helped create and launch Crescendo, a line of books written by women; the blog manager for FullFill™, a nonprofit focused on mobilizing women to invest their influence in the world for God’s purposes and a founding member of the Redbud Writers Guild (where she also managed the Redbud blog). She received a Journalism degree from Ohio University where she also competed on the Bobcat’s track team  (O-H-I-O!). She frequently teaches to communities of all ages at her church, preaches an occasional sermon and speaks at a variety of other women’s events. She has written for Strangely Dim, Her.meneutics, Kyria, MomSense, Gifted for Leadership and FullFill™  and was a contributor to the Every Day Matters Bible and the MOPS devotional Always There. She also worked behind the scenes to provide editorial feedback for Lisa Chan’s video Be Still, produced by Flannel (and her friend Steve Carr).

Now, she’s mostly just tired.

In her “free time” she loves to add to the stack of books on her nightstand (read), dream up new ways to make her body hurt (exercise) and hang out with two really amazing teenagers (parent). She’s been married to her husband Eric, a pastor at Christ Church of Oak Brook, for 18 years. Before moving to the Chicago suburbs, she and Eric worked for Athletes in Action (sports ministry of Cru) where Suanne worked for the marketing department, wrote for the ministry’s magazine and spent summers traveling abroad with Eric and 25 handsome (but smelly) college men who loved Jesus and baseball.
